Located at El Palmar beach on the Pacific coast of the Republic of Panama, Manglar Lodge offers the visitor four cozy and clean rooms, WiFi, a lounge terrace and gardens where you can relax on the sun, read and watch birds and butterflies. Sometimes you can also see iguanas, squirrels and oposums.

The high tides will bring you nice sunsets next to the mangrove and, depending on the river and swell conditions, you can also try kayaking or surfing/bodyboarding.

‘Help the environment’ and animal policy

Manglar Lodge is a small facility where we use efficient equipments and light bulbs, water saving toilets and showers, and we recycle whatever we can. We appreciate from our guests and visitors to help us keep the place clean, avoid fires, not to harm any animal and conserve water and energy.

In consideration with other guests, no animal is allowed in the rooms. Once the restaurant and bar are opened, educated pet dogs will be allowed only in the terrace outdoors, and every owner is responsible for cleaning any mess. No animals sitting on the chairs, or tables, please.

Bay View Hotel is a family-oriented and relaxing hotel and bar-restaurant, with a swimming pool area and a beautiful terrace facing the Pacific beach of El Palmar, San Carlos.

It’s a nature-inspired resort, that at first sight looks like an oasis in the middle of the beach because of its water fountains and green vegetation, composed mainly by tropical plants, palm trees and flowers. There are several thatched-roof bohios surrounding a fish-shaped pool that is divided for the use of kids and adults.

The restaurant and bar are located on top of a hill, in a large “bohio” where you can sit and watch the beach and garden while enjoying your meal or a drink. It first opened to public on October 2002, serving a variety of foods that include meats, chicken, fish and seafood, as well as many drinks, cocktails and beers.

Today Bay View Resort has also 27 rooms for renting, all of them with air conditioning, hot water, T.V. set with cable TV , and comfortable beds, free wireless internet.

We have the great good fortune of almost two kilometer of beautiful beach in front of our property. This is not common at all- at a kilometer to the left and a kilometer to the right the beaches are packed with rocks and unwalkable and unswimmable unless the tide is really high! It should also be noted that the 40 or so kilometers of the area on the pacific whre it is situatd is known as the “arco seco” , the dry arc, ie when it is pouring in Panama City there is just a shower in El Palmar. Also, no mosquitos! very few insects (abundance of birds drawn by our little swimming pool); as soon as you go back into the country, away from the ocean front there are plenty of noisome insects, but none here. Even in the rainy season, all we get is a half hour or so of rain, then sunshine again. It’s a great surf location.
